Welcome

We are so excited that you are interested in NMC! You probably have lots of questions about how things work here and there are lots of ways to discover some answers even before you come!

First, check out the different sections on the website, there’s a lot of information that you may find helpful.

Second if you’d like to see what happens in our worship services we stream both services on YouTube as well as our Facebook page.

Services

The best way to find out about things is to visit with us on a Sunday morning. Here’s a schedule:

9AM – Contemporary Worship in the Family Life Center

10AM – Sunday School

11AM – Traditional Worship in the Sanctuary

4:30PM – Youth Meeting in the Family Life Center

Some Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I Park?

There are spots available all around both buildings and are convenient to all the gathering spaces. Some spots are marked, or you can park in the grass.

Where do I enter?

For the 9 AM Contemporary Service in the Family Life Center, the main door is under the drive thru portico. Most of our Sunday School classes are also in the Family Life Center. For the 11 AM Traditional Service, you’ll enter on the South Berrien Street side of the Sanctuary. For all gatherings there are friendly faces to greet you and help you find your way inside.

What do I do with my kids?

Our nursery is located in the Family Life Center on the bottom floor. Our Greeters will direct you to the area. The nursery is for infants 6 weeks and older through age 4. Children 5 and up will participate with you in the worship service until KidsChurch begins just before the sermon time. KidsChurch is a fun and interactive way for the children to worship and learn about Jesus at their age level. This takes place in the KidsChurch room in our Children’s ministry area. All children that participate in the nursery or KidsChurch will be registered and given a sticker with their name on it ad a number that matches a slip given to the parent or guardian. Upon pickup our KidsChurch staff will match numbers to ensure safety for the children. We follow guidelines for Safe Sanctuaries to ensure that all of our children are in a safe environment as they learn about Jesus.

What if I need a quick trip to the restroom?

It happens, right? Restrooms are available in both buildings and are marked clearly. Men’s and Ladies Rooms are located outside the entrance to the main worship space in the Family Life Center and down the Hall from the Sanctuary.

What do I wear?

You’ll find a mixture of just about everything in both services, from shorts and t-shirts to men in suits and ties and women in dresses. Just come casually dressed and comfortable.

Will I have to stand up and be recognized as a visitor?

No. You will be greeted by our trained staff at the door and hopefully by many other people while you are on the campus, but we will not call you out to stand up and be recognized as a visitor.

What are the services like?

The 9 AM Contemporary service is led by a praise band made up of guitars and drums and vocalists. We sing and worship, watch an introductory video, listen to a sermon and then close the service with a song. The 11 AM Traditional service is led by piano, organ and a choir. We sing hymns, and repeat creeds, and pray, listen to a sermon and close with another hymn. You can find previously streamed services on our Watch live tab or on our Facebook page to get a
better idea of what happens.

Is there anything I need to do before I come?

Pray and prepare your heart to worship God. Often people think they have to ‘get right’ with God before they can come to church. There’s an old saying that goes like this: The Church is a hospital for sinners, not a country club for saints. We are all people that have been broken by life. We have all sinned. We are all in need of a Savior. Being present in a church is not your final act of getting right. For most of us its just a step in the right direction that we take each week.

We allow the Holy Spirit to change us as we move forward, but we aren’t ‘fixed’ before
we get here. Don’t worry about your past. We won’t. We just want to help you with
your future.

What We Believe

We believe in the fantastic story of God’s love for the world He created. God loves the people He created. But we, following in the footsteps of Adam and Eve, have rejected God’s will and sought to follow our own. This rejection is sin and it separates us from Him.

His love is so great for us that even while we were still sinners, He sent His Son, Jesus the Christ, who willingly gave His life and was sacrificed on the cross for the sin of the world. Anyone who repents of their sin and believes in Jesus can be saved to eternal life.

To make it even easier, God has sent His Holy Spirit to live in the hearts of those who believe. God’s call to His creation is to surrender our will to Him in response to His love. As a part of the Global Methodist Church, we follow the teaching of John Wesley who called the Church to a very methodical approach of following Jesus by studying Scripture, worshiping within the gathered community, observing the Sacraments, Scriptural holiness of both heart and life and serving in ministry to the whole world.

HOW DO WE LIVE OUT WHAT WE BELIEVE?

CONNECT

Jesus said,

Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them,
will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.

John 15.5

To become a disciple of Jesus we must be connected to God and each other. We connect
through Worshipping in the gathered community, the intentional study of His Word personally
and in Small Groups, and serving in ministry.

GROW

But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love Him. That is how we
know we are living in Him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.

1 John 2:5-6

To become like Jesus requires us to grow, allowing the Holy Spirit to change our heart and
mind. We believe that we are called to holiness, that we should strive for it. This growth
happens as we Worship, intentionally study His Word personally and in Small Groups, and
serve in ministry.

SERVE

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good
things he planned for us long ago.

Ephesians 2:10

As we grow to be more like Jesus, we can’t help but see the call of being a servant. Serving
takes many forms both inside and outside the Church. Using the spiritual gifts given to every
believer, we engage in ministry to serve each other and the world.

Giving

Giving is part of our response to the goodness of God. Not only are we told to give the ‘first fruits of the harvest’ by Scripture as a response to faith, we have a need within us to say thanks to the God who has done so much. Tithing, or giving the first 10th of our income to God is the Scriptural standard. Offerings beyond that are another way for us to respond.

We also give with our talents, time and energy as we serve in ministry in the church and in the community.

There are offering buckets at the entrances to each worship space and you can drop your offering there on the way in or out of worship. If you choose to use the pushpay link, the process is safe and secure. Thank you for being faithful.

In Person

During worship, place your offering in the Buckets that have been painted by our children at the exits of each worship space.

By Mail

If you are unable to attend in person and would like to mail a check, you mail it to:

PO Box 5036, Nashville, GA 31639
